A 2 km (1.2 mi) causeway had to be constructed through a river estuary as part of the services corridor. The estuarine mud foundation in the river estuary was soft to firm, posing challenges for construction.

The access road plays a vital role in reducing transportation distance and time. To create the road network, a series of basal reinforced embankments were designed based on the existing ground terrain.

MIRAFI PET 800/50, a high strength polyester woven geotextile with a tensile strength of 800kN/m (45.4 lb/ft), was employed to ensure embankment stability within the specified criteria.
