Job overview:
The administration, implementation, and enforcement of the plant environmental, health, and safety policies to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and to meet or exceed established goals.
Key responsibilities:
Develop and implement Plant Safety practices to create a safe working environment.
Develop and implement Plant Environmental practices to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Promote safety awareness; assist in safety and technical training.
Monitor and enforce environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Assists with the technical training and acts as SME in all HSE disciplines.
Conduct ongoing safety inspections of facilities, operations, and equipment to ensure compliance and a safe working environment for all SOLMAX employees.
Maintain OSHA and EPA required written programs and permits, recommending /
conducting training as necessary.In support of the company Nurse, conduct Industrial Hygiene monitoring of hazards
including noise and chemical exposure and works to minimize exposure.
Qualifications:
An undergraduate degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Safety Engineering or related discipline; extensive work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Minimum of 5 to 8 years HSE experience; manufacturing preferred.
Experience with implementation and administration of a Behavior Based Safety Programs.
Typical indoor manufacturing environment. The noise level is usually moderate to high and hearing protection may be required on the production floor. Safety glasses and safety toed shoes are required on the production floor. Travel, off shift, and occasional weekend work are required.
Travel Requirement: This position is intended to be main support for 4 key facilities in
North Georgia and supplementary assistance to the Regional HSE

Skills required:
Communications Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business and technical journals and financial reports. Ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers/clients in an effort to respond to common inquiries or complaints from
customers/clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community and public. Ability to develop presentations to be delivered to production team, plant level team, or public groups.Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts like addition, subtraction, multiplication or division to basic manufacturing performance recording or financial performance recording. Ability to read and use a tape measure.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid
conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in
mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
