Position overview:

Solmax is looking for a Financial Analyst to oversee corporate management reporting and financial KPI development and analysis. We are looking for someone able to take on large projects and with a desire to take their career to the next level.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain and improve complex financial models

  • Support the financial reporting team in preparing management material for both internal and external stakeholders

  • Make detailed variance analysis of monthly results

  • Partner with business unit analyst in understanding the drivers of variances and identify potential risks and opportunities in the forecast

  • Collaborate with cross-functional business partners to develop the monthly shareholder’s reporting and quarterly board reporting packages

  • Develop, standardized and provide financial KPIs for the business units to support decision making

  • Optimize and develop tools for internal financial analysis

  • Support the regions with the Continuous Improvement Program and Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing work processes and support the Finance team with ad hoc analysis.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. CPA, CMA, or CA is preferred, combined with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.

  • Strong capacity to gather and process large amounts of data for efficient consolidated reporting.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, both in French and English, to build a meaningful narrative with data.

  • Resourceful and having the ability to find and implement temporary solutions, but also suggest long term and more robust solutions.

  • Strong computer skills with advanced working knowledge of Excel and ERP systems and applications (Dynamics 365, SAP, PowerBI would be a plus),

  • Approachable with the ability to communicate cross-functionally within an evolving organization and must be able to prioritize work and have the ability to work independently as well as an effective member of the overall Finance team.

  • Demonstrate a high level of adaptability and works well under pressure, thrive in a fast-paced environment and ability to take initiative and identify issues with a solutions-oriented approach.
