Position overview

As the Global Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, you will be responsible for leading the FP&A team and driving the financial planning process across the organization. You will collaborate closely with senior management to provide insightful analysis and strategic recommendations to optimize financial performance. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of financial modeling and analysis, and the ability to influence key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and financial targets.

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making and scenario analysis. Provide analysis of financial results and variances, identifying key trends and drivers of performance.

  • Prepare presentations and reports for senior management and the Board of Directors. Partner with other departments and regional leads to provide financial insights and support cross-functional initiatives, including KPI’s.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial planning processes and systems and drive the various data management finance initiatives to optimize the financial systems.

  • Manage and develop a high-performing FP&A team, providing coaching and professional development opportunities.

  • Monitor industry trends and best practices to recommend improvements in FP&A practices.

  • Manage the capex process including approval, tracking, and post-implementation reviews.

  • Monitor the Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and report on company-wide performance and support regional business groups by advising on global best practices.

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. Proven experience (typically 8+ years) in financial planning and analysis, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.

  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and variance analysis.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with financial planning software is a plus.

  • Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think broadly about the business and drive continuous improvement. CPA, CFA, or CMA designation is a plus. Experience in an international manufacturing setting, fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, SAP) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Ability to travel internationally up to 15% of time
