Position overview
The Market Manager (MM) is responsible for sales, product management and market development in the Agriculture Industry and can operate in various countries over EMEA, depending on business opportunities. His / Her goal is to achieve annual sales revenue, margin, volume and profitability targets across the Agricultural sales channels in the region. This includes direct field (or face-to-face) sales and indirect field sales (channel/partner/distributor). Next to that the MM is responsible for account management, as well as manage his/her own sales operations and administration. Under the guidance of the Commercial Director for Specialties business EMEA, the MM executes on a day-to-day basis our strategy to have immediate impact on business results in alignment with corporate objectives for the assigned area.
Key responsibilities
Implementation and expansion of specific business targets for the Agriculture product offering of Solmax.
Strategic sales responsibility for turnover, volume, margin and market share & preparation of periodic sales reports on market development.
Manage, train and grow a network of successful distributors & lead direct and indirect sales negotiations.
Work out and implement successful, yet cost-efficient promotion and marketing activities in the region. Monitor customer and competitor behaviour and identify market trends and opportunities.
Support of marketing in preparation of case studies and project reports & convey the company’s brand image.
Manage the product offering in the composition of the range, the technical properties as well as the key selling points and differentiation arguments & gather product and solutions needs in the agriculture industry and actively lead the innovation process to commercial launch.
Actively participate in the supply chain strategy for the products offered, manufactured or outsourced & participate to the definition of the pricing strategy and other sales conditions of the offering.
Mandatory usage of CRM: leads creation, call reports, opportunities and quoting.
Qualifications and skills
Commercial or Agricultural Qualified Education or Degree. At least 5 years’ experience in a challenging sales position with demonstrable success.
Work experience in the agricultural sector and possibly commercial expertise in the Agricultural market, focussing on animal fodder, animal health or film / foils / nonwovens.
An existing network and contacts in the Agricultural sector. Possessing a network outside you region of origin is a plus.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical customers.
Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
You are self-motivated, results-oriented and able to work independently.
You are willing to travel within the region to meet relations (30-50% indicative) and attend events such as trade shows, distributor events to explore new business opportunities.
Next to your French mother tongue, your English skills are excellent, both verbally and written. Further languages are a plus.
