Position Overview
The Engineering Business Manager of Roadway will lead the development and execution of a strategic business plan to enhance sales and profitability of geosynthetic value-added products (VAPs) within the northern California region. The EBM Manager will be the “face” of the Solmax Civil Infrastructure Division by establishing rapport within the Transportation industry associations (ASCE, ASHE, AREMA), both the private and public infrastructure. This role involves direct leadership in driving technical marketing strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting various aspects of business development and marketing efforts. The manager will foster customer relations, focusing on infrastructure sectors such as roadways, railroads, renewable energies, and commercial construction, while representing Solmax within industry associations and key stakeholders to achieve corporate objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Demonstrate leadership, honesty, and total customer commitment throughout marketing and sales.
Provide ethical marketing and sales support consistent with company policies.
Ensure total customer support meeting or exceeding expectations.
Assist in developing and executing the strategic Business Plan and reviewing it for adjustments.
Drive domestic market development for Roadway VAPs, identifying needs and influencers.
Develop and support lead generation activities, conduct technical training, and coordinate with sales personnel.
Attend regional and national trade shows to enhance product awareness.
Support innovation management, provide marketing and sales support, participate in technical marketing, and maintain customer relationships.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, other engineering, construction management, or other relevant technical field of study
5-10 years of experience in an engineering/technical capacity (design, technical specifications, bid documents, technical reports, construction support, etc.) within the Transportation sector.
5-10 years’ experience managing client relationships within the private and government infrastructure segments.
High business integrity with superior attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Superior project management, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in engineering business development and technical communication.
Ability to influence and build relationships with various stakeholders.
Goal-oriented with autonomous ownership of market region, adept at managing priorities and problem resolution.
