Separation and filtration

Filtration and drainage systems in civil and environmental engineering make sure, that liquids can be discharged from structures in a controlled way without significant loss of soil or other particles. Filtration is the prevention of soil particles into various drainage systems, including drainage composites or drainage media. Drainage is the flow of water along the drainage system. To guarantee the mechanical and hydraulic filter stability of these systems over the service lifetime of the structure, geosynthetics act in a major role by providing the necessary stability and functionalities.
