The GSE® HD liner series is a high-density polyethylene geomembrane for the toughest applications. Designed to exceed GRI-GM13 specification standards for HDPE geomembrane liners, GSE HD offers proven performance at the most competitive prices on the market.
GSE HD is manufactured using high quality polyethylene resins, with carbon black, antioxidants, and UV stabilizers incorporated into the polymer to ensure long-term durability in both covered and exposed installations. The result is a reliable, cost-effective geomembrane backed by billions of square feet of successful installations worldwide - across potable water, decorative ponds, animal waste containment, landfills, canal linings, and secondary containment.
Its broad and well-documented track record means regulators are highly familiar with HDPE geomembranes and their application, streamlining approvals and reducing project risk.
HDPE is the most universally accepted polymer for geomembrane applications, offering proven resistance to a wide variety of chemicals including aromatic and halogenated hydrocarbons. GSE HD delivers solid chemical resistance suitable for the majority of containment applications — from municipal solid waste to mining operations and secondary containment within chemical plants.
For containment environments involving prolonged exposure to aggressive brine, tailings, or elevated temperatures, GSE HX may be worth exploring as a complement to the GSE product range.
GSE HD is available in a variety of configurations to meet project-specific requirements:
Smooth surface - for standard lining applications requiring verified impermeability
Single or double textured surface - provides increased frictional resistance to improve slope stability, allowing steeper slopes that can increase containment capacity and reduce project costs
Colour options - black (standard), green (for aesthetic landfill caps), or white (solar-reflective upper surface to reduce thermal loading)
Conductive bottom layer - complement post-installation electrical leak location surveys
All GSE HD geomembranes are produced under a three-stage quality assurance programme. Raw material suppliers must comply with Solmax's incoming resin specifications, with conformance testing conducted before unloading. During production, every roll is electronically monitored for pinholes. After production, each roll undergoes a full mechanical properties assessment to confirm it meets or exceeds Solmax quality standards.
