Position overview

The Innovation Engineer will play a pivotal role in transforming feedback from the market into actionable improvements within our production processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiency, ensure the quality of our products, and contribute to the exploration of new applications and business opportunities. This role requires a proactive mindset, technical acumen, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the technical and sales teams to gather and analyze feedback from clients, identifying trends, needs, and areas for product improvement.

  • Develop and implement in cooperation with our production team modifications to production lines based on market insights, optimizing processes to increase efficiency, quality, and scalability.

  • Work with the technical and sales team to ensure that market-driven innovations are incorporated into product designs and manufacturing processes.

  • Identify and assess new business opportunities, including potential applications for existing products in new industries or markets.

  • Lead and support research and development (R&D) projects, focusing on innovative solutions that align with company objectives and customer needs.

  • Conduct regular assessments of production processes, identifying areas for improvement and recommending new equipment, technologies, or methodologies.

  • Maintain detailed records and documentation of production modifications, process improvements, and R&D findings.

  • Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in production and manufacturing to help Solmax maintain its competitive edge.

Qualifications and skills

  • Master degree in engineering, industrial engineering, civil engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an engineering role, ideally focused on production or process improvement, product innovation, or R&D.

  • Proven experience with production processes and systems, with a strong understanding of manufacturing methodologies and technologies.

  • A creative and analytical approach to problem-solving, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable production improvements.

  • Excellent project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading cross-functional projects from concept to implementation.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as MS Office Suite, CRM systems, etc.

  • A proactive, innovative mindset and a strong interest in continuous learning and professional development.
