Overview
This position is responsible for providing technical support to the Low Carbon Solutions (LCS) business unit within Solmax. Project Engineers at Solmax provide technical support to the internal and external Solmax Sales Team, Marketing, and other Solmax teammates. In additions to the internal team, Project Engineers offer technical support to other engineers, contractors, owners, specifiers, etc. who have an interest in using Solmax solutions. The successful candidate should expect to be knowledgeable in geotechnical, transportation, environmental, and hydraulic engineering. Project Engineers can also expect to work with other members of the commercial team to drive marketing and new product innovation initiatives.
Key responsibilities
Understands and applies the basic engineering concepts, practices, and theories involved in the design/development/review/permitting, construction, maintenance, operations, or repair of, projects/sites and their potential environmental and safety impacts.
Prepares/reviews engineering/technical plans and/or data for completeness, compatibility, compliance with engineering principles, standards, codes, and design needs; makes suggestions to higher level engineers or managers on project concerns/issues.
Makes decisions on routine engineering matters or other areas requiring technical engineering knowledge. Decisions are subject to review.
Expresses basic engineering concepts and related facts in a clear, concise, and organized manner.
Writes clear, concise, and organized documents and reports addressing basic engineering concepts and facts.
Presents detailed technical information, guidelines, and standards to seek compliance and/or approval.
Actively participates in trade organizations relevant to Solmax overall strategy in order to properly position Solmax product portfolio in the marketplace, work with others in the industry to advance the technology and provide positive support and guidance to others in the group.
Assists in consultation, gathers information in response to an inquiry. Works with marketing teams.
Qualifications and skills
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or other relevant technical field of study
EIT/FE Preferred
Team-oriented
Understanding of customer, competitor, channel conflicts, and supplier relationships
Proficient in technical tools and applications for efficient communication (Microsoft Office Suite apps, iOS functionality, SAP, etc.)
