Position overview

The Engineering business manager (EBM) is the specialist in providing technical advice and engineering in the field of civil engineering solutions with geosynthetics. The application areas for the role are focused on hydraulic engineering (mainly focusing in runoff water infiltration) but will also develop our solutions for civil infrastructure and geotechnical structures with the full range of Geosynthetic applications. The EBM role is crucial in stimulating business growth by using expertise, networking skills and technical knowledge of water infrastructure (mainly rainwater collection but also general linear civil infrastructure). The EBM contributes to the technical promotion and specification of our solutions in the early stages of projects and works in collaboration with the Sales Managers of the region as well as with the other EBMs of the Area (France).

Key responsibilities

  • In this position you use your technical background to achieve technico-commercial goals and further develop our specification network (mainly public collectivities, consultant engineers and other key stakeholders). The region of responsibility will be North East France.

  • Develop sales strategies, together with the team, and use your existing network to achieve these goals.

  • Collaborate in an international setting with colleagues and partners to develop new solutions and products.

  • Project management of a diverse portfolio, continuously seeking project specific solutions to exceed the expectations of our clients and stakeholders.

  • Promote the use of geosynthetics in sustainable solutions, including participating in committees and developing guidelines.

  • Develop and implement, together with other Sales Engineers in EMEA, technical marketing tools.

  • Internal networking to share opportunities from your own network.

  • Full use of our CRM to keep track of projects and contacts as well as evaluation of the business progression.

Qualifications and skills

  • A civil engineering background (or related field such as hydraulic or geotechnical engineering) at bachelor or master level with a strong interest in commerce.

  • Demonstrable work experience in civil/hydraulic engineering. A commercial expertise in the infrastructure market is a plus.

  • An existing network and contacts in the civil engineering world in your region. Possessing a network outside you region is a plus.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.

  • You are self-motivated, results-oriented and able to work independently.

  • You are willing to travel within the region to meet relations (25% indicative) and attend events such as trade shows/congresses to explore new business opportunities.

  • Next to your mother tongue, your English skills are excellent, both verbally and written.
