Position overview
The Sales Manager (SM) is responsible for sales and market development in specific geographic locations in a particular country and for achieving annual sales revenue, margin, volume and profitability targets across the Civil Infrastructure and Environmental Infrastructure sales channels in a particular country. This includes direct field (or face-to face) sales and indirect field (channel/partner/distributor) sales. Next to that the SM is responsible for account management, as well as managing their own sales operations and administration. Under the guidance of a Commercial Director or an Area Sales Manager, the SM executes on a day-to-day basis our strategies to have immediate impact on business results in alignment with corporate objectives for the assigned area. The SM reports directly to a Commercial Director or an Area Sales Manager and is part of the Sales Team of a specific region.
Key responsibilities
Implementation and expansion of specific business targets at national level for one or more product range(s) of Solmax.
Strategic sales responsibility for turnover, margin and market share.
Manage and train a network of distributors.
Direct and indirect sales negotiations and implementation of all necessary promotional activities and contacts with customer groups in the assigned sales area.
Convey the company’s brand image in the construction market.
Support of marketing in preparation of case studies and project reports.
Usage of CRM: creation and maintenance of sales relevant master and project data. Preparation of quotes.
Preparation of periodic sales reports on market development.
Qualifications and skills
A civil engineering background (or related field such as hydraulic or geotechnical engineering) at bachelor or master level.
At least 5 years experience in a challenging sales position with demonstrable success.
Work experience in civil engineering and possibly commercial expertise in the civil engineering market as well as experience with and knowledge of different contract forms (D&B, UAV-GC, etc.).
An existing network and contacts in the civil engineering world in your region. Possessing a network outside your region is a plus.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical customers.
Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and you are self-motivated, results- oriented and able to work independently.
You are willing to travel within the area to meet relations (10% indicative) and attend events such as trade shows/congresses to explore new business opportunities.
Next to your mother tongue, your English skills are excellent, both verbally and written.
