Position overview

The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment. Duties include careful loading and unloading of materials, as well as moving products around the warehouse and yard. He/she is responsible for the careful handling and storage of finished products, in compliance with the storage plans and production specifications communicated to him/her.

His/her responsibilities also include preparing, collecting and consolidating PE & PVC products for shipment according to the documentation provided, and completing any necessary reports. Adherence to the highest safety standards is essential to maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.

Key responsibilities

  • Empty indoor storage areas and sort materials in the yard according to production specifications;

  • Load and unload containers, trucks and flatbeds safely;

  • Take samples as requested by the technical department or logistics;

  • Prepare orders for shipment and visually check rolls before loading (holes, telescopic rolls, etc.).

  • Receive and deliver required production materials (resins, additives, pallets, pvc rolls) to operators to ensure production efficiency.

  • Store hazardous materials according to safety standards;

  • Take inventory in the yard.

  • Fill in for colleagues during vacations

Qualifications and skills

  • French (spoken and written) and English (basic)

  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent completed

  • Forklift Certificate and valid driver's license

  • At least 1 year's direct experience in a similar position

  • Reliability and punctuality essential

  • Autonomy, proactivity, Thoroughness and attention to detail

  • Good teamwork skills

  • Good physical skills (climbing, descending, good hearing, lifting weights up to 50 lbs)
