Position overview

Reporting directly to the CHRO, the Global Director Total Rewards & HR Operations provides overall strategic leadership regarding Solmax programs by governing all aspects of total rewards initiatives such as salary planning, bonuses, job architecture, group benefits, retirement plans, recognition, and wellness programs and by leading work automation, analytics, and HR systems deployment. He/she must demonstrate influence and leadership, act as a strategic partner and expert advisor in leading, planning, developing, designing, and implementing a range of programs and processes related to compensation, benefits, programs, payroll, policies and practices, human resources analytics and information systems that support the company’s strategic goals while working closely with the regional teams. In accordance with the company’s strategic orientations, he/she develops and recommends total rewards strategies and priorities to attract and retain the right talent. He/she must act as an agent of change when implementing innovative solutions and methods in a context of continuous evolution.

Key responsibilities

Strategic governance:

  • Oversee the development of Solmax Total Rewards offering.

  • Develop and consolidate expertise and act as a global expert for all programs.

  • Ensure alignment with global objectives and governance strategy.

  • Define and oversee governance related to compensation and benefits policies.

  • Lead market assessments, when required, and maintain relations outside Solmax.

  • Lead the annual salary/STI/LTI planning process while working closely with regional teams.

  • Develop policies, procedures, and tools to ensure competitive programs.

  • Coach leaders to support managers through compensation decisions.

  • Monitor legislative changes and propose modifications.

  • Oversee cost, design, and plan conception of the company’s benefits programs.

  • Oversee the administration of various programs, such as group benefits and group RRSP (for Canada) as well as various programs as required.

Systems Lead and HR Analytics:

  • Oversee UKG HRMS platform deployment and evolution for the entire organization and implement/drive key HR decision-making metrics.

  • Oversee data integrity and compliance in the various systems and maintain high level of consistency with global data management practices.

  • Lead work automation and optimization and ensure we fully leverage systems capabilities and make available training materials. Ensure appropriate roles and responsibilities in UKG for all stakeholders.

  • Partner with various teams such as IT, Finance and HR to automate and provide executive reporting on various programs utilization and metrics

  • Develop and oversee our HR data strategy and governance, including implementation of key performance indicators (KPI).

HR Business Partner and More:

  • Responsible to develop and maintain HR policies and procedures linked to Total Rewards

  • Oversee all HR compliance efforts, i.e., Pay Equity; OLFQ; Accessibility Act; LOA process and application; Bill 90, GDPR, etc.

  • Support and work closely with the CHRO in implementing and administering any HR initiatives or projects. Coach and develop teams to ensure progression and learning opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 10 years experiences in management consulting, HR analytics roles,

  • compensation, and benefits and/or equivalent combination at the global scale

  • Minimum of 5 years experiences in leadership and/or senior consulting roles working for multinational organizations

  • Experience in managing executive compensation

  • Experience in designing and administrating short- and long-term incentive programs

  • Experience in designing and implementing a global HRIS will be considered as an asset

  • Experience in global mobility will be considered as an asset

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or another field that uses quantitative analysis. An equivalent combination of experience/education can also be considered.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Expert knowledge of compensation & benefits principles and current industry best practices.

  • Extensive experience developing policies and programs related to compensation and benefits and expertise with human capital performance measurement and metrics.

  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.

  • Innovative, strong project management and change management skills and demonstrated ability to build strong and trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Energetic, resilient, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential and sensitive personnel information.

  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and influence stakeholders.

  • Various levels of exposure to systems and technology and proven track-record of programs governance.

  • Bilingual is essential, in both French and English, written and spoken.

  • Excellent in vulgarization of complex subjects.
